Good afternoon, dear friends!

Dear colleagues!

I am pleased to welcome all participants of the largest professional forum on the development of microelectronics. This key industry event is being held for the 12th time and brings together representatives from science, education, government, and business at the Sirius University venue for exchanging knowledge, ideas, as well as finding reliable partners and establishing cooperative ties.

This year, about 140 leading Russian companies showcased the most advanced technologies and developments, ideas at their booths. These included complex industrial equipment, innovative materials, digital systems, and software for modeling physical processes in the design of competitive electronic products. In total, more than 2,500 specialists, including colleagues from friendly countries—Belarus, China, India, Vietnam, Kazakhstan—will participate in the scientific conference, discussions, and exhibition.

The industry faces the most serious challenges today. The President especially emphasized the need to increase efforts to create a domestic technological platform in the field of microelectronics. It is important to strengthen those positions where we already have advantages, closely integrating the work of scientists with companies and the real production sector.

To this end, the Government has revised its approaches to managing the sector, consolidating efforts and resources for the balanced growth of our competencies in this high-tech field. Special attention is being paid to ensuring that promising developments move more quickly along the entire path—from the laboratory to mass production.

There are already good results from these measures. The product portfolio has been significantly expanded and currently includes about 39 thousand Russian solutions. The production volume of computers, electronic and optical products for the past year is estimated at over 4 trillion rubles. This is 20% higher than the figures from the previous period. And this positive trend continues in the current year.

Moreover, new enterprises are being established across the country, including in the Far East, where significant projects for the construction of factories producing photoelectron converters and microwave components are being implemented, without which, in particular, no modern communication or navigation system can operate.

I will also note the country’s first production of photonic integrated circuits, which was launched at the end of last year in Moscow. Our scientific teams have accumulated quite significant groundwork in this area, which opens up opportunities for its advanced development.

A significant role in solving the assigned tasks is given to the youth. Talented young people who are fully focused on professional self-realization and substantial practical results. And we have quite a few of them.

Here at the forum venue, the School of Young Scientists was opened, attended by more than 400 students and postgraduates. This is a good personnel reserve for the development of microelectronics in Russia. I am sure that many of them will soon begin to contribute to expanding the range of industry products, which will help enhance the resilience of the country’s critical infrastructure and, consequently, improve people’s quality of life.

Dear friends! On the eve of the professional holiday – Electronic Industry Workers’ Day – I want to sincerely thank scientists, designers, engineers, technicians, technologists, and workers for your responsible work, which forms a solid foundation for strengthening technological and industrial sovereignty. We count on your constructive proposals that will allow us to provide effective responses to all new challenges.

I wish all forum participants productive work.
