On September 26 and 27 on the stage Theater on Taganka, subordinate to the metropolitan To the Department of Culture, will show a family play “The Three Little Pigs. Oh”. Production designer Maria Tregubova, a laureate of the ‘Golden Mask’, ‘Crystal Turandot’, and other prestigious theater awards, created a unique visual universe. The audience can expect dolls, fantastic character images, and vibrant decorations.

The childhood fairy tale by Sergey Mikhalkov about the three little pigs received a new interpretation thanks to his granddaughters — Anna and Nadezhda. Their tender attitude towards family heritage and love for children’s literature transformed the famous story into an exciting theatrical adventure.

“The fairy tale ‘The Three Little Pigs,’ written by our grandfather Sergey Mikhalkov, became the starting point for a great journey. In the play, we decided to be a bit mischievous and imagine that the adventures of the piglets take place in a theater, right on the stage. It’s a story about how important it is to support each other and not be afraid of making mistakes. And our team really wanted this family play to be a reason both to laugh heartily, to talk about true friendship, and to reflect on how important it is to not lose yourself and to stay together in the most difficult situations,” shared Anna Mikhalkova.

Young viewers of the performance will be able to feel like artists, co-authors, and even magicians. The main director and narrator will unexpectedly become the one everyone is used to fearing — the Wolf. It is his perspective that will help re-evaluate the themes and meanings of the fairy tale in a new way.

“M_factory of children’s content has extensive experience in creating large-scale productions for children, the Taganka Theatre has a unique troupe, a style close to the contemporary audience, and a drive to explore new forms in aesthetics, language, and ways of communicating with viewers. The production ‘The Three Little Pigs. Oh’ will become the first puppet show in the theatre’s repertoire for family viewing,” said Irina Apeksimova, director of the Taganka Theatre.
