On September 23, at the Faculty of Construction of SPbGASU, an off-site practical session was held as part of career guidance work for the course “Technology of Building and Structure Erection.” It was attended by 26 fourth-year students studying in the specialty “Construction.” Under the guidance of a senior lecturer from the Department of Construction Production Technology (CPT) Mkrtich Tonakanyan future builders visited the site of the multifunctional complex being constructed on the site of the vestibule of the Frunzenskaya metro station. Let us remind you that the station was closed for reconstruction on June 1, 2024.

This is a landmark project for St. Petersburg, and the work on it is under close scrutiny by the city administration and the metro management. On the site of the 1961-built vestibule, a building with two underground and five above-ground floors is being constructed. The armored dome from the historic building has been preserved – it will serve to organize passenger access to the escalators leading down to the trains.

Students familiarized themselves with the specifics of performing work on the construction of multi-story buildings in dense urban environments, and practically studied issues related to maintaining as-built documentation, compiling the general work log, and controlling the parameters of the concrete mix.

Currently, work is underway at the site for the installation of formwork, assembly of reinforcement cages, and pouring of concrete mix. The work production is associated with limited construction site area, the need to consider the impact of new construction on existing buildings and structures, as well as difficulties in organizing logistics.

The Department of Construction Production Technology expresses its gratitude for organizing the technical tour to the Chief Engineer of the Infrastructure Programs Directorate of the Metro Administration Evgeny Deordiev, Deputy Head of the Production Department of the Directorate To Pavlo Dzyuba, the Directorate’s equipment To Tatyana Saltykova, Deputy Chief of the Branch Site of JSC “Roads and Bridges” (Bridge Unit 90) To Vladimir Alexandrov and to the head of the department for supervision of construction and reconstruction of facilities in the Right-Bank zone of Saint Petersburg, Department of State Construction Supervision of the State Construction Supervision and Expertise Service of Saint Petersburg To Sergey Korotich.

In addition, for the development and testing of scientific work on improving the technology of joining monolithic structure joints, the site was visited by senior lecturers of the TSP department. Maria Kagan (the PhD defense took place in 2026) and Anastasia Bondar.
