The qualifying round of the contest “Miss and Mister Student of Moscow” will take place on September 30 and October 1. It will be a concert with creative performances by students in the multiformat space “}]}Moscow youth. The “Zvezdny” on Vernadsky Avenue (building 14). Participants will be able to present acts of various types — from vocals and choreography to original genres, artistic reading, and instrumental performance. Registration for spectators is open on the “Youth of Moscow” portal: at September 30 and October 1.
“This is not just a competition, but an opportunity for students to make themselves known, showcase their talent, and find like-minded people. We invite Muscovites to be spectators of the qualifying stage and support the participants, because this is what will truly help them to open up,” noted Margarita Savinkina, head of the “Youth of Moscow” project.
Full-time students aged 18 to 25 could submit applications through their university administrations until September 22 inclusive. To participate, it was necessary to complete a questionnaire and send a video of a stage performance lasting no more than two minutes. The list of those who passed the selection will be published on the portal ‘Youth of Moscow’.
The qualifying stage will last two days: girls will perform on September 30, and boys on October 1. For the participants who pass it, rehearsals will be organized where the kids will master the runway walk — part of the concert performance. The audience can expect vocal and choreography numbers, theatrical productions, as well as live instrumental music. The contestants will be judged by a professional jury. The results of the qualifying stage will be announced on the same days.
Last year’s winners shared their impressions and offered some encouraging words to the contestants. Ksenia Shalaeva, a student of the Russian State Social University (RSSU), holder of the title “Miss Student of Moscow,” performed a routine at the qualifying stage that had previously won in the “Come on, girls!” RSSU-2025 competition. She performed it wearing heels. The dance routine included tricks and featured a group of dancers. Ksenia Shalaeva noted that the contest provides a unique opportunity to fully experience student life: to develop, create, try different directions, attend interesting events, meet new people, and perform on a big stage.
“Step onto the stage with confidence and, most importantly, try to enjoy the moment. Events like this don’t happen every day, so besides the excitement, we want you to feel pleasure from what is happening,” shared Ksenia Shalaeva.
The holder of the title “Mister Moscow Student” and a student of the Russian University of Medicine, Gleb Kalimulin, also advised the participants not to be afraid, as nervousness is always noticeable and interferes with getting into the right mood. At the qualifying stage, Gleb performed an act in which he combined original poetry and saxophone playing. According to him, the contest has become an integral part of his life, giving him important acquaintances, invaluable experience, and self-confidence.
The city competition “Miss and Mister Student of Moscow” is organized by the Moscow Youth project of the capital Committee on Public Relations and Youth Policy. The competition is aimed at identifying and supporting talented student youth, promoting creativity and sports, developing inter-university connections, and creating conditions for the self-realization of young people.
“Opportunities for Youth 3.0” is a modern system of measures aimed at creating conditions for the self-realization of young people. It allows them to participate in developing advanced solutions, to test their skills in scientific activities, in public service, as well as in the field of international cooperation.
The support program is implemented within the framework of the national project “Youth and children”. It helps to master an in-demand profession and build a career, receive a grant and start your own project, go on a thematic trip around the country, as well as engage in science at leading universities from the first year.
