SPbGASU Female Students Awarded Among the Winners of the “Ideas Transforming Cities” Competition

On September 22, the award ceremony for the winners of the IX All-Russian competition of young architects and urbanists “Ideas Transforming Cities” was held in the St. Petersburg administrative and business district “Nevskaya Ratusha.” Among the laureates are representatives of Saint Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering.

Participants presented their projects and received letters of appreciation. The awarding was conducted by the Vice Governor of Saint Petersburg Evgeny Razumishkin, Chairman of the Committee for Beautification of St. Petersburg Sergey Petrichenko, representatives of the Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture and the Committee on Education of the Northern Capital.

In the nomination “Improvement of courtyard areas,” the first-degree winner’s diploma and an internship at the company “Berso” were awarded to a fourth-year student of the architectural faculty of SPbGASU. Karine Matevosyan for the project “Quarter of the Future.” Scientific supervisors – senior lecturer of the Department of Landscape Architecture at SPbGASU Elena Kutaliya and an associate professor of this department Irina Shkolnikova.

In the category “Improvement of Public Spaces,” the second-year student of the Faculty of Architecture was awarded the second-degree diploma Irina Shapovalova for the project of improvement and landscaping of the children’s hospital territory. Leaders – assistants of the Department of Landscape Architecture Anna Lapkina and Nikita Zhiltsov.

The preliminary stage of the contest received 2,309 applications from 87 subjects of the Russian Federation. 670 finalists from 86 regions of the country—from Kaliningrad to Kamchatka, including new territories—participated in the in-person stage.

The contest is included in the list of events of the Ministry of Education of Russia for the 2025/26 academic year. All winners and prize-winners will be entered into the state information resource “Talents and Success.”
