Today, September 23, 2026, the production site of SENAT in Saint Petersburg was visited by the Chairman of the Management Board of PJSC Gazprom, Alexey Miller, the Governor of Saint Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, and the General Director of PJSC KAMAZ, Sergey Kogogin.

They inspected the assembly line for the SENAT 900 luxury car.

During the event, the 323rd SENAT 900 car rolled off the assembly line. Symbolically, the car’s serial number matched the age of Saint Petersburg: in 2026, the city turned 323 years old.

The official premiere of the SENAT 900 and the start of its mass production took place on June 4, 2026, as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

SENAT 900 – a luxury sedan with a 3.0L V6 326 hp engine, 8-speed automatic transmission, permanent all-wheel drive, and pneumatic suspension.

The production of the SENAT 900 marks the return of the domestic automotive industry to the segment of mass-produced luxury cars after a long hiatus.

“SENAT is the first premium car in Russia. I am particularly pleased to note that this project was born in Saint Petersburg. Our city, as historically intended, is a major industrial center of Russia. And projects like SENAT further strengthen this position.“, – stressed Chairman of the Management Committee of PJSC Gazprom Alexey Miller.

“The founder of our city, Peter the First, invited the best craftsmen from around the world to the banks of the Neva to learn advanced technologies from them. Our president continues Peter’s work. Twenty years ago, Vladimir Vladimirovich initiated the establishment of an auto cluster on the banks of the Neva. At his invitation, leading global manufacturers opened plants here. In 2022, they left us. But the automotive industry has already become a part of Petersburg. The city has acquired the necessary expertise, facilities, logistics, personnel, and has developed a component base. By the president’s order, we began to revive the automotive industry. And this year, we accomplished the task set by the head of state. We restarted all four automotive sites of the city of Petersburg. The next step is to move to our own developments in the automotive industry based on domestic technologies. We are confident that Petersburg cars will become a symbol of comfort and reliability. The automotive industry is a priority sector of Petersburg, and ‘Senate’ is its future.“, – he said, in turn, Governor of Saint Petersburg Alexander Beglov.

“What seemed a bold project just a year ago has now become a reality. Demand for executive-class cars is growing, so it is important for production to promptly respond to market requests and supply it with domestic products. This class of vehicles is also interesting because it sets the trends in terms of innovations and advanced solutions, from which ideas then spread to more mass-market automotive segments. The Russian engineering school must definitely participate in these processes., – noted General Director of KAMAZ Sergey Kogogin.– I want to especially thank our partners. This project came to fruition thanks to joint work, trust, and support at all levels. I am convinced that such cooperation is the key to the Russian automotive industry not just recovering, but setting new standards.“.

Today, the SENAT production facility in Saint Petersburg is establishing a new technological base for the manufacture of domestic luxury class cars. SENAT’s plans include the mass production launch of the flagship SENAT 1000 sedan, followed by a large crossover, as well as the development of special editions.
