Financial News: MFIs Change Loan Issuance Structure: Results of Q2.

Microfinance organizations (MFOs) issued loans totaling 490 billion rubles in the second quarter of 2026, while consumer loans continued to decline.

Companies increased the share of medium- and long-term consumer loans to retain the highest quality borrowers. At the same time, short-term issuances continued to decline due to the requirement to verify borrower income information, as well as the upcoming limitation on the number of expensive loans active simultaneously. However, microfinance organizations ramped up the issuance of loans with a credit limit (similar to a credit card), which allows them to retain clients for a longer period.
