70 leaders of Moscow cultural and leisure centers have undergone training organized by the Personnel Services Department of the Moscow Government at the initiative of the capital Department of Regional Executive Authorities. For four months, they evaluated the work of institutions through the eyes of visitors, determined what is truly important to guests and which event formats are currently in demand. In search of solutions, the participants studied the experience of VDNH, the Zotov center, the Tsaritsyno museum-reserve, and other venues in the capital.

As a result, the leaders of the centers developed 11 concepts for new cultural products for residents. Among them are spaces for family and youth leisure, design centers, and other forms of recreation. Special attention was paid to interaction with partners.

“Moscow is a dynamic city that is constantly developing. Along with the capital, its cultural venues are also improving. Therefore, it is important for us to continuously seek ideas, formats, and solutions that make their work even more interesting and in demand for residents. The educational program gave managers and specialists the opportunity to gain new knowledge, exchange experiences, and jointly find solutions for further development,” noted Alexander Naidanov, the First Deputy Head of the Department of Territorial Bodies of the Executive Authority of the City of Moscow.

In addition, administrators of the Association of Cultural Centers (ACC) underwent training. They answer guests’ questions, inform about the schedule, and help select activities to their liking. Using real examples, participants examined how to better understand a person’s needs, notice important details, and offer suitable options so that the visitor can more quickly find an interesting format and learn more about the venue’s opportunities.

Programs for managers and administrators focus on different tasks but work towards a common goal — making visits to cultural centers even more convenient and interesting for Muscovites. At the same time, new approaches do not replace the familiar ones — they complement the accumulated experience.

“For us, it was important to combine practical tools from experts and professional exchange among the heads of the OKC in the program. Participants learned to work more thoroughly with audience requests, to test ideas and evaluate their potential. As a result, they developed new initiatives for their districts. Joint work also played a significant role: colleagues shared experiences, discussed solutions, and gave each other feedback. I am confident that all this will help the teams continue to develop in-demand cultural formats and make visiting the venues more comfortable for guests,” said Polina Loginova, head of the Personnel Services Department of the Moscow Government.

Work on developing cultural centers continues. The skills acquired by administrators are already helping to improve daily communication with visitors, and the ideas proposed by leaders will be developed and tested in practice.
