Urumqi, September 22 /Xinhua/ — From January to August 2026, 344,000 automobiles were exported through the Khorgos checkpoint /Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Northwest China/, which is an increase of 33.3 percent compared to the same period last year, according to data from Khorgos Customs.
Customs data shows that among exported vehicles, the share of passenger cars and commercial vehicles with new energy sources has increased significantly.
Thanks to its geographical advantages and benefits as a logistics channel, the Khorgos checkpoint has become the largest land border crossing in China for the export of commercial vehicles.
Currently, vehicles manufactured in China are mainly supplied through Khorgos to the countries of Central Asia, including Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Their sales are carried out in a number of countries and regions participating in the joint implementation of the “Belt and Road” initiative.
Liang Hao, CEO of the Khorgos international forwarding company “Haocheng,” reported that his company exports commercial vehicles through Khorgos mainly to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Azerbaijan, and other countries. At the same time, after-sales service centers have been established in some foreign cities for the exported vehicles.
The local customs continuously optimize the customs clearance process and implement a “7×24” working mode (24 hours a day, 7 days a week) to ensure efficient export of vehicles. -0-
