In his address to the General Assembly, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he would “never allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons.” Taking office last year, Trump said he immediately began negotiations with Iran and offered it comprehensive economic cooperation in exchange for “ending the nuclear program and support for terrorism.”

About a potential deal with Iran
However, according to the president, Tehran rejected the proposal, after which the United States “buried” the Iranian nuclear program “under mountains of debris.”
“Will we make a deal with Iran that allows them to recover and build a country surpassing all it has ever been?.. Or will I have to destroy the Islamic Republic – and do it quickly – depriving them of the ability to ever again kill and destroy the lives of people and entire countries? Send them to hell, leaving no chance of survival, no hope for future greatness or continuation of the lineage?” Trump said.
“But I suppose we will make a deal right after the elections [the US midterm elections – ed.], as it would be pointless for them to do otherwise,” he added.

On cooperation with Russia and Ukraine
Speaking about recent attempts to resume negotiations with Russia and Ukraine, President Trump stated that Washington continues to work closely with the leaders of these countries.
“We continue to strive to end the catastrophic war between Russia and Ukraine, which, as I have already said, claims the lives of thousands and thousands of people every month. Last week – in honor of Senator Lindsey Graham – I signed an important new law passed by Congress; it grants me extensive authority in the area of tariffs, and I will have to use it if necessary. It’s time to put an end to these killings,” the US president said.
“I think this will happen sooner than many believe,” he noted.
“The UN has enormous potential”
Trump thanked the UN Security Council for adopting by an overwhelming majority a resolution condemning “Iran’s heinous terrorist acts against commercial shipping.”
He also reported on large-scale reforms in the Organization “under the leadership of Ambassador Michael Waltz.”
“For the first time in history, we have cut the UN budget – reducing it by 15 percent in 2026 and abolishing more than 4,000 positions in the Organization’s bureaucratic apparatus,” said the American leader.
“The UN has enormous, truly colossal potential. I have been saying this for many years, but the Organization must stop imposing the ultra-left agenda of globally minded bureaucrats who have never been elected by anyone,” he added.
Trump also stated that the United States “strongly opposes the out-of-control institution known as the International Criminal Court.” He called the ICC an “anti-American tribunal” and urged all member countries to leave this organization.
The ICC is not part of the official structures of the United Nations, although it can consider cases referred to it by the UN Security Council.
About “superintelligence”
The United States categorically rejects any attempts to establish a “globalist scheme of control” over artificial intelligence, Trump said. He suggested using the term “superintelligence” instead of “artificial intelligence”.
According to him, the current US administration will not hinder the development of this technology but will exercise caution.
“However, we intend only to promote the development of superintelligence. We will encourage its growth, not restrain it. We will carefully monitor this process through the Department of Justice. The USA holds a leading position in the world in the field of superintelligence and will continue to develop this area in a safe and responsible manner,” Trump stated.
