From September 19 to 20, the XVII District Festival, dedicated to the diversity of national cultures, was held noisily and cheerfully in Zizhu Yuan Park (Bamboo Park). More than 40 tents lined up around the lotus pond – city residents, without traveling far, were able to try dishes from the cuisines of Yunnan Province, the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and other regions of the country.

In Chinese cities, parks like Zizhuyuan are popular. They are not only places for walks and enjoying the scenery, but also a kind of communal courtyard, a “living room” for local residents. Here, elderly people can dance, sing, and play chess; young people can take photos in hanfu; and children can connect with traditions through programs aimed at preserving intangible cultural heritage.
