NSU graduates visited the buildings new university campus, which is being built within the framework of the national project “Youth and Children.” Director of the NSU History Museum Lidia Vorobtsova conducted a tour for guests of the facilities of the second phase. The event took place as part of the annual alumni meeting organized by the NSU Union.

The graduates toured two new buildings — the educational and scientific center of the Institute of Medicine and Medical Technologies (IMMT) and the Research Center (RC) of NSU. The tour of the IMMT building was conducted by the institute’s director, Yulia Samoylova.

The new IMMT building officially opened on September 2, 2026. It is designed to educate over 700 students in medical fields. It houses practical training rooms and laboratories, as well as an accreditation-simulation center covering about 1400 sq.m with simulators for endovideosurgery, ultrasound and endoscopic examinations, including a “Disaster Medicine” section.

Up to 180 graduate students and young scientists will work at the NSU Research Center. It is planned to develop space instrument engineering, photonics and sensors, biomedical and pharmaceutical technologies, synchrotron research, as well as high-performance computing at this center. The delivery of the new Research Center building is scheduled for November-December of this year.

— The new campus centers are focused on education in tomorrow’s specialties, interdisciplinary research, and the development of specific ‘Akademgorodok’ capabilities — the use of accelerators, nuclear labels, accelerator mass spectrometry, — noted the participants of the excursion.
