The project of Ruslana Bulakh, a student of the State University of Management (Marketing Institute), was included
among the nominees for the prestigious industry award “Shark of the Pet Business 2026” – an annual industry award that brings together companies, projects, and events in the pet industry.
Ruslana Bulakh, in collaboration with a team of like-minded individuals, students, and graduates of the State University of Management, created the “Animal Donor Assistance Portal ‘Of One Blood'”, recognized as one of the best projects aimed at improving the quality of medical care for pets and, in particular, addressing the problem of blood transfusion.
The “Of One Blood” portal has become a real breakthrough – an aggregator of information about the pet blood bank. It helps pet owners find donors faster for pets that need transfusions. The project already operates throughout Russia, uniting pet owners and doctors willing to help, and those who found themselves in an emergency situation.
Today, the issue of donation in veterinary centers is very acute. Every day, animals die because they do not receive blood for transfusion. It is extremely difficult to find the necessary biological materials due to the imperfection of the blood search system because of its rarity or absence in clinics. According to the portal odnakrovi.rf, 30% of respondents have faced the need to search for blood, and only 8% of pets are suitable for donation.
Blood transfusions are often required as a result of an accident where every hour and minute counts. The result of chaotic calls to blood banks is the loss of precious time, and consequently, the loss of the opportunity to prevent disaster. The statistics across the country are depressing: about a third of injured animals never receive help. And this is the situation in Moscow and the Moscow region; the issue of donation is even more acute in other Russian regions.
The “Shark of the Pet Business 2026” award features the best pet business projects from across the country, and for our university team it is especially important that a project created by a student of the State University of Management is among them!
