The number of digital screens with maps in the Moscow metro has increased 14 times over the past eight years. By the end of the first half of 2026, their number reached seven thousand. All new stations since 2017 have been equipped only with modern screens, and touch navigation elements operate on all ‘Moscow’ trains across 10 lines. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry. Maxim Liksutov.

“In just the past three years, we have installed more than two thousand new screens displaying the metro map on trains. Currently, we are developing the digital stations project. At innovative transport facilities, we place metro maps on touch screens. Along with them, we install maps of neighborhoods with city transport stops and indicate which metro stations are equipped with elevators, ramps, and other facilities. All digital stations are now equipped with innovative steles,” noted Maxim Liksutov.

Digital metro maps are more convenient than traditional ones. Passengers can zoom in on the touch screen, receive a personalized route indicating convenient transfers and travel time, and also choose from several available languages. Additionally, the use of digital screens allows for navigation updates without large-scale night work and does not require disposal of outdated materials, which contributes to environmental preservation.
