In the landscape park “Mitino”, subordinate to the capital To the Department of Culture, from September 18 to 20, the final event of the IV Festival of National Horse Breeds “Equine Heritage” will take place. Three days will be devoted to the culture and traditions of the peoples of Siberia and the Far East.

From May to September, festival guests embarked on an unusual journey through various regions of the country. Five Moscow parks temporarily became themed venues where they told about the culture, crafts, legends, and equestrian traditions of a particular region. Over the past months, guests managed to visit the Caucasus, stop by a Cossack stanitsa, get acquainted with the Urals, and immerse themselves in the atmosphere of Russian fairy tales. The final stop will be the Mitino landscape park.

The “Shamanic Tales” program will take place at the festival square of the park for all three days from 12:00 to 19:00. It is based on images of natural elements and related northern legends. The spirits of fire, wind, snow, taiga, mountains, and rivers will gain their own characters and be embodied in a theatrical performance, with horses participating and helping to tell guests the story of the northern lands.

The flagship show of the “Altair” ensemble will open the daily program. The musical and dance segment will be complemented by performances of the “Buin Khan” ensemble, which will take place at 12:10, 14:50, 16:10, and 18:10. In addition, visitors will be able to join Buryat and Yakut folk games, test their knowledge in quizzes, and learn the traditional festival dance.

A special place in the program will be occupied by the parade of horses. Spectators will see representatives of national breeds and will be able to learn more about how the climate, lifestyle features, and cultural traditions have influenced the character of the animals and determined their role in the lives of different peoples. Thus, at 12:40 there will be a theatrical parade, at 14:20 — a breed parade, and at 16:40 — a sports parade. The program will conclude at 18:20 with theatrical and breed parades.

Visitors will also be able to participate in creative workshops. For example, at the workshop “Painting a wooden circle: learning to decorate a tambourine,” guests will learn about the features of ornaments, come up with their own pattern, and create a painted souvenir. In the linocut class, participants will master the basic techniques of this art and make a postcard featuring the traditional dwelling of the Northern peoples. During the flanking lesson, guests will learn to handle a wooden saber. For those who prefer drawing, there will be an art zone with one of the festival’s most charming characters — the horse Kefirchik, which can be colored. Young guests will be invited to hobbes horsing competitions held at 13:10 and 17:00.

The final meeting will also include memorable gifts. Visitors will be able to receive a participant’s passport — a guardian of national equestrian traditions. And those who attend the festival events will be able to collect a prize of the day at a special booth.
