Traditionally, at the beginning of the academic year, the Darwin Museum, subordinate to the capital’s Department of Culture, organizes a themed festive program for toddlers and their parents. This year it is dedicated to the “Preschool Academy” of the Darwin Museum, which turns 10 years old on September 19.
The main hall of the “Diversity of Life on Earth” museum will be the venue for the events. The focus will be on the quest “Around the World Journey with the Preschool Academy.” Young visitors will embark on an exciting journey to different corners of the planet: they will encounter puzzles, interesting facts about animals, active games, creative workshops, and much more.
In its anniversary year, the “Preschool Academy” released a new museum guide for children, whose main character is the curious little penguin Dada. At the celebration, he will tell his story about how he traveled the planet, explored the world, and met various animals, and upon returning to the museum, wrote a guide for toddlers based on his notes. However, in a hurry, the little penguin lost a suitcase with gifts, and now it is up to the young explorers to help find it. Following the route of little penguin Dada on the map of the Earth, children will visit quest stations, complete tasks, receive marks from the hosts, and eventually find the suitcase with treasures.
Together with their parents, the children will solve the main puzzle — they will find out what the most valuable thing Dada found during the journey.
The quest tasks will not only help find gifts but also tell about the diversity of the Earth’s animal world and the adaptations animals have.
In addition to the quest, guests will enjoy a rich creative and gaming program. For example, there will be a master class on making a moving toy “Dada the Penguin,” which lives in the guidebook for toddlers from the Darwin Museum’s “Preschool Academy” (intended for children aged three and up). Every child will be able to create their own toy. In addition, large floor coloring sheets will be an excellent opportunity for the youngest artists to express their creativity.
For older children, a family game session “Around the World” will be held, featuring board games such as “African Photo Hunt,” the lotto games “Inhabitants of the Continents,” and “Neoparochki. Tails.”
Specifically for the guests of the celebration, the autonomous non-profit organization “First Years” will hold a game program for children aged three to five and their parents: active, useful, and developmental games. Sessions are scheduled at 10:30 and 12:00.
No participant of the celebration will leave the museum without a gift.
