Hong Kong, September 16 /Xinhua/ — The Hong Kong SAR will participate in the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area /GBA/ as a world-class city cluster with global influence, said Li Jiachao, head of the administration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region /SAR/, on Wednesday.
Presenting the first five-year plan for the socio-economic development /2026-2030/ of Xianggang, Li Jiachao stated that the Hong Kong SAR will contribute to the development of the enterprise chain in the information technology industry within the framework of the BRI. The Hong Kong SAR will strive to attract more talented leaders in the field of information technology from mainland China and abroad to open their offices in the Hong Kong SAR, as well as promote the application of intellectual property rights related to R&D results.
Infrastructure is a crucial component of transportation communication within the RCEP. Li Jiachao stated that the Hong Kong SAR will promote the construction of cross-border railway lines and accelerate the establishment of large clusters of intelligent computing.
In order to further harmonize the rules and mechanisms within the framework of the RCEP, efforts will be made to promote mutual recognition of professional qualifications and harmonization of medical services and regulatory frameworks.
