Every third Wednesday of September, Russia celebrates HR Manager Day—a holiday honoring people who find talents, build strong teams, and help employees unlock their potential.
Modern HR is much more than just recruiting employees. It is corporate culture, motivation, talent development, and creating an environment where people want to grow and achieve more.
For the State University of Management, this is a special day, as it was at our university that the first personnel management department in Russia was established. Since 1990, specialists have been trained here who today develop HR directions in the country’s largest companies. Over the years, the department has become a true school of managerial decisions: those who later introduced modern motivation systems, launched adaptation programs, and built transparent career tracks in large organizations studied here. Many graduates today themselves become mentors and set new standards for working with personnel.
By the way, HR skills are useful for everyone: the ability to listen, negotiate, and work in a team will come in handy both in academic projects and in a career. For a student, these competencies help to quickly find common ground with classmates, properly distribute tasks, and confidently present results. And for a future manager, this is the foundation without which effective management is hard to imagine.
Congratulations to the students, faculty, and alumni of the Human Resource Management Department of GUU, as well as the staff of our university’s personnel department on their professional holiday!
We wish you quality resumes, reliable assistants, and strong teams! May each day be a step toward new professional heights!
