In Moscow, opportunities for sports activities are being expanded for participants of the special military operation (SMO). The new initiative is regular training sessions at the “Boxing Academy” in the Luzhniki sports complex. Engaging in sports is part of a comprehensive program to reintegrate veterans into civilian life.
The Unified Support Center, the Moscow Association of SVO Veterans, and the “Boxing Academy” at “Luzhniki” have signed a tripartite cooperation agreement. Now veterans will be able to train in a professional ring under the guidance of experienced coaches. Groups are small—up to six people, which will allow specialists to pay attention to each participant.
“The task of the Unified Support Center is to build a comprehensive support system for veterans of the Special Military Operation. Sports is one of the important ways of adaptation, but we do not offer separate sessions; instead, we create opportunities for regular physical activity, social interaction, and thereby a return to the usual rhythm of life. Therefore, it is especially important to unite the efforts of city organizations, specialized institutions, and the veteran community so that such programs are accessible and truly meet the needs of veterans,” noted Daria Starovoitova, director of the Unified Support Center.
The training program is of a physical fitness and wellness nature. Participants will master punching techniques, work on boxing bags and pads, and perform exercises to improve coordination.
“Various sports trainings, including boxing classes, help a person find a new circle of communication, get into a routine, and achieve personal progress. For a veteran returning to civilian life, this is another element of the adaptation program; we are developing the sports direction together with specialized partners,” explained the Moscow Association of Special Military Operation Veterans.
Boxing training sessions will be held twice a week — on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00 to 11:00 at the following address: Moscow, Luzhniki Street, building 24, structure 4. The number of spots in the groups is limited.
To participate, a medical certificate in the form No. 073/u with permission to engage in boxing is required. It can be obtained for free at the city polyclinic.

Support for participants of the special military operation and their relatives is the capital’s highest priority.
