On September 12, the student campus on Lesnaya was unrecognizable: noisy, bright, crowded! The Creativity Festival “Discovery” started here — an annual celebration marking the beginning of a rich extracurricular life. It showed students that Polytechnic is not only lectures and laboratories, but also stage, music, performances, festivals, and great opportunities.
The Student Club of the Directorate of Cultural Programs and Youth Creativity gathered the most active students on one platform. There was something to surprise the guests of the event: two theaters, two choirs, two vocal studios, a pop-symphonic orchestra, a dance studio, KVN — each group prepared its own thematic zone. Dmitry Misyura, the artistic director of the Student Club, addressed the polytechnic students with a welcoming speech: he wished everyone present to find their creative path at the university and fully realize their creative potential.
At the festival stations, visitors could play the musical-drawing game “Crocodile” and try their hand as musicians, get acquainted with rare photographic equipment, catch a note and sing on a given theme, participate in theatrical mini-sketches, train their imagination, and receive a prediction for the school year. For this, students earned game currency — which could be exchanged for memorable gifts or saved for a big auction.
The eyes run wild with such opportunities! You want to make it everywhere: to the theater, to the choir, to dance. “Otkrytie” is the best way to fall in love with Polytechnic from the very first day. I have already chosen the studios I want to try myself in, shared first-year IPMEiT student Maria Kostkova.
A separate creative space was the interactive map of the Student Club’s annual events. Polytechnic students immersed themselves for a few minutes in the atmosphere of the intellectual-entertainment game “FastBrain,” a horror quest, Maslenitsa, and other iconic events.
The outdoor attraction was the stage, where participants from the vocal studio “PolyVox”, the project “Star of Polytech”, and the dance studio “PolyDance” performed, as well as the winner of the St. Petersburg “Studvesna-2026” Ekaterina Pautova added incredible drive with beatboxing.
The evening concluded with a powerful musical finale in the assembly hall. First, the space was filled with the voices of the Youth Choir “Poligimnia” and the Chamber Choir, then the musical project “NE SPAT'” and the rock bands “Secret Scarlet”, “Breakfast Club” and “Poltora” took over the baton. This mix of genres and energies caused a real sensation: the guests sang along, danced, and didn’t want to let the performers leave the stage.
The Student Club is kicking off the new season and opening its doors to talented youth. Just as rich and vibrant as the creative festival program was, the entire season is planned to be the same. Students can look forward to both beloved events and many new discoveries, vivid emotions, and impressions. We will be glad to see everyone who is ready to become part of the big creative family within our walls,” invited the director of the Student Club, Angelina Kulanova.
The “Discovery” creativity festival is just the first step in an active student life. Throughout the year, polytechnic students can look forward to quests, intellectual games “FastBrain”, quizzes, music festivals, large-scale events, and intimate gatherings.
