The construction complex of Russia is actively engaged in the construction and restoration of healthcare facilities in Donbass and Novorossiya – this work continues without interruption and helps the regions move towards achieving national goals. Since 2022, about 420 healthcare facilities have been commissioned in these historical regions. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.
“Improving the accessibility, quality, and effectiveness of medical care directly depends on the conditions in which it is provided. Today, under challenging circumstances, an infrastructural framework for healthcare in the reunited regions is being created: according to the Russian Ministry of Construction, 330 facilities have been restored and built by supervising regions and federal customers, and about 90 more, according to the Russian Ministry of Health, have been modernized within the federal project. Among them are large institutions such as the perinatal center in Donetsk and the multidisciplinary medical center of the FMBA of Russia in Mariupol, as well as district outpatient clinics and feldsher-midwife points in small settlements. For example, in the capital of the DPR, the state customer has completed the restoration of the diagnostic block building of the V.K. Gusak Institute of Emergency and Reconstructive Surgery. Work continues on the long-term construction cardiothoracic surgery building,” said the deputy prime minister.
The function of coordinating and implementing the programs for socio-economic development of the DPR, LPR, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions has been assigned to the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services.
“The revival of medical infrastructure in the reunified regions has become a clear example of effective cooperation between the federal center, patron regions, and industry experts. We strive to ensure that quality medical care is accessible to everyone, regardless of their place of residence. This systemic work is already yielding real results, improving people’s lives,” noted Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services Almaz Khusainov.
In particular, more than 100 medical facilities in the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic are operated by the public-law company “Unified Customer in the Construction Sector.”
“The restoration of healthcare facilities is a particularly important and priority task for the company’s specialists, because human lives are at stake in this work. In the renovated diagnostic unit of the Hrusak Institute of Emergency and Restorative Surgery, the builders not only updated the interior spaces but also modernized the engineering communications. Comfortable diagnostic rooms equipped with modern equipment for performing magnetic resonance and spiral computed tomography have also been created in the building,” reported Karen Oganesyan, General Director of PPK ‘Unified Customer’.
