Deputy Prime Minister – Head of the Government Office Dmitry Grigorenko took part in the International Youth Festival held in Yekaterinburg. He gave a lecture dedicated to the development of information technologies and named seven trends that will shape digital development in the next 5–10 years.
Dmitry Grigorenko identified artificial intelligence, 5G networks and satellite internet, the development of data centers and robotics, the spread of digital platforms, service personalization, and countering cyber fraud as key trends.
According to him, digital technologies have already become a basic condition for economic development and a tool for improving quality of life. Dmitry Grigorenko noted that the Russian IT sector grows annually by 15–20%, and the capacity of domestic data centers has doubled over the past five years. The development of infrastructure is especially important against the backdrop of active artificial intelligence implementation, which increases the demands on computing power several times over.
“Today, the world is discussing not so much the development of artificial intelligence as its integration into our lives and its impact on them. This technology should primarily be viewed as a tool: it increases efficiency and productivity, allowing the automation of routine processes,” said Dmitry Grigorenko.
The Deputy Prime Minister paid special attention to the digitalization of public services. Currently, more than 1,600 services are available on the government services portal. They are grouped into life situations, such as university admission or retirement, and with the help of artificial intelligence, they plan to personalize them for each individual user.
Dmitry Grigorenko noted that the complete digitalization of public administration will allow obtaining the necessary data directly from information systems and dedicating more time to working with people and projects.
“There is no tool more effective in the fight against bureaucracy than digitalization. I sincerely believe that within 5–10 years we will fully digitize information about processes and tasks. As soon as the information appears in digital form in one place, everyone with the appropriate rights can access it. This allows for automation and simplification of reporting,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.
Another priority named by Dmitry Grigorenko was security in the digital environment. He noted that after the adoption of two packages of measures, the number of cases of internet fraud in the first half of 2026 decreased by a third. In total, about 50 measures are planned, including labeling calls from organizations, self-bans on issuing loans and SIM cards, and a ban on receiving SMS messages during a phone call.
