The Petrovsky Travel Palace has prepared a New Year’s program for young visitors. It will be based on the imagery of Russian fairy tales. The performances will take place in the format of a game-journey.
The palace will be decorated in the style of illustrations by the famous Russian artist Ivan Bilibin. The halls will feature themed areas with folk games, creative workshops, and a nativity puppet theater. Live ancient music will be played at the end of the performance.
Several interactive stations will be prepared for participants. In the “Battlefield,” young knights will learn safe historical fencing with felt swords and throwing giant soft stones. At the “Princess Frog” shooting range, an experienced specialist will teach children to shoot from a real bow and a slingshot.
In the “Painted Terem,” guests will immerse themselves in the world of Russian crafts. Anyone interested will have the opportunity to paint wooden spoons, decorate kokoshniks with beads and bugle beads, and also learn cross-stitch embroidery.
At the interactive station “Fair” inside the palace, you will be able to slide down a wooden slide, throw “snowballs,” and learn to play the spoons.
In the palace drawing room, a puppet theater performance “The Tale of the Golden Cockerel” will be shown. The audience will hear the voice of the famous actor and director, People’s Artist of the USSR Oleg Tabakov — it is his interpretation in which the work of Alexander Pushkin will be presented.
Then the children will be invited to the Round Hall of the Petrovsky Travel Palace. They will dance a round dance with Ded Moroz, and also hear traditional carols and spiritual poems performed by two ensembles — the ancient Russian spiritual music group “Sirin” and the early music ensemble “Uzorka.”
You can attend the New Year’s performances starting from December 25. The program is designed for children from three to eleven years old. You can find the schedule and purchase tickets through the “Mosbilet” service at link.
