From August 31 to September 4, 2026 Novosibirsk State University (NSU) hosted a delegation from the Denau Institute of Entrepreneurship and Pedagogy (Republic of Uzbekistan). The delegation included a Doctor of Political Sciences, a professor, and the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Butaev Usmonjon Khairullaevich and PhD, head of the Department of Russian Language and Literature at the Faculty of Philology Choriyev Zhurakul Gaffarovich.
The purpose of the visit was to summarize the joint work for the 2025–2026 academic year within the framework of the Cooperation Agreement on the joint double degree master’s program between NSU and the Denau Institute of Entrepreneurship and Pedagogy in the field of “Philology”. The key event was the arrival in Novosibirsk of students from Denau, who began their second year of master’s studies at the NSU Humanities Institute.
During the visit, a working meeting took place between the delegation members and the Candidate of Sociological Sciences, Associate Professor, and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of NSU. The parties discussed organizational aspects of implementing a joint master’s program in philology, expanding cooperation in the fields of exact and natural sciences, issues of academic mobility for faculty and students, as well as the possibility of inviting NSU faculty to Denau to deliver lectures. Special attention was given to the value of education at Novosibirsk University, the specifics of study at an academic institution with high scientific potential, and the career opportunities for graduates of the program.
Also, members of the delegation met with the head of the education export department at NSU by Yevgeny Ivanovich Sagaidak. The conversation discussed the possibilities of attracting motivated students from Uzbekistan. It was noted that education at the university is based on close integration with fundamental science: teaching is conducted by active researchers, and students are involved in real scientific work from the first years. This approach allows forming personnel potential for science and education, preparing qualified specialists.
In addition, working meetings were held with the leadership and faculty of the Humanities Institute of NSU, with the university being represented by Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, and Director of the Humanities Institute Andrey Sergeyevich Zuev PhD in Philology, Associate Professor of the Department of General and Russian Linguistics, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs Tatyana Ivanovna Belitsa; Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Literary Source Studies and Ancient Languages, Director of the joint master’s program Olga Georgievna Shcheglova; Doctor of Philological Sciences, professor, head of the Department of General and Russian Linguistics Natalya Borisovna Koshkareva; as well as assistant professor of the Department of National History, specialist of the scientific-organizational department Evgenia Andreevna Ignatieva.
During the discussion, the current results of student learning, prospects for expanding joint educational initiatives, and deepening academic exchange were examined in detail. Following the negotiations, the parties discussed plans for new admissions to the joint master’s program in the next academic year and expressed readiness for further expansion of cooperation.
