Applications for participation in the ninth season of the project have started in the capital “Music in the subway”. It gives artists the opportunity to share their creativity with city transport passengers. Concerts take place at metro stations, Moscow Central Diameters and Moscow Central Circle, and the repertoire of the participants features works from various genres.
In the ninth season, a new direction will appear — “Opera in the Metro.” Performers of operatic works are invited to participate for the first time, who will be able to undergo an open audition and join the project.
“By the instruction of Sergei Sobyanin, we continue to develop the Moscow metro as a cultural space. The ‘Music in the Metro’ project has already brought together 475 musicians performing at more than 40 venues. This year, for the first time, we are inviting opera performers to participate,” noted the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.
The new “Opera in the Subway” initiative is designed for artists with varying levels of professional experience. Applications are welcome from both renowned opera singers and emerging vocalists who perform works in this genre and develop their own projects on social media.
To participate in the open audition, you must fill out the form by October 14 at project website and attach a link to a video recording of their performance. In addition, contact information will need to be provided. Those who plan to pass the selection in the “Opera in the Metro” category should indicate this in their application.
