Over nine years, the “School Day at the Museum” project has become an important component of the capital’s educational system. It has already united more than 500 thousand schoolchildren. Sergei Sobyanin spoke about this on his channel in in the messenger “Max”.

museums The children learn to research, work with information, draw conclusions, and apply knowledge in practice. The programs for the classes are created by methodologists from the Institute for the Development of Specialized Education of the Moscow City Pedagogical University, teachers, and museum staff. The city organizes free buses,” wrote the Mayor of Moscow.

In the 2025/2026 academic year, the project brought together more than 320 schools and 100,000 students. They spent over four thousand school days at 46 venues. The most popular among them were the Museum of Cosmonautics, the Moscow Zoo, and the State Sports Museum.
Since September, the site of the M.A. Bulgakov Museum on Bolshaya Pirogovskaya Street has joined the project. In addition, “Biocluster,” a project of the K.A. Timiryazev State Biological Museum, has introduced a new educational program.
““The children will explore the properties of honey, wax, and propolis, study the features of the structure and movements of insects,” Sergey Sobyanin noted.
