In 2026, work was completed on the construction and reconstruction of four off-street pedestrian crossings in the Moskvorechye-Saburovo district. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Policy and Construction. Vladimir Efimov.
Sergey Sobyanin opened the overpass on September 10 — exit from the Moscow High-Speed Diameter (MSD) to Kashirskoye Highway. The new overpass provides a direct, signal-free exit from the southern direction of the MSD towards the Moscow Ring Road. Additionally, it will reduce the load on Kaspiyskaya Street, as well as improve transport accessibility for four districts: Moskvorechye-Saburovo, Tsaritsyno, Orekhovo-Borisovo Severnoye, and Brateyevo.
“As part of the project for the construction of the overpass exit, opened by Sergey Sobyanin, the reconstruction of the underground pedestrian crossing near house 57 on Kashirskoye Highway was also carried out. Since the beginning of 2026 alone, four such facilities have already appeared in the Moskvorechye-Saburovo area. We introduce such structures annually: they provide pedestrian connections between residential neighborhoods, social facilities, and city transport, as well as safe movement for residents,” noted Vladimir Efimov.
Three more pedestrian crossings have appeared on Kantemirovskaya Street: in the area of building 29, block 2, near building 3, block 3, and building 17, block 1. They were constructed as part of the project implementation of the section Southern bypass.
Head of the Department of Transport and Engineering Infrastructure Construction of the City of Moscow Vasily Desyatkov he said that construction is currently underway on the overpass along the main route of Kashirsky Proezd over the Southern Rokada. Protective and dividing barriers have been installed at the site, and asphalt paving has been completed. As part of this project, 2.4 kilometers of roads have already been built and put into operation, and traffic has been opened on sections of Kotlyakovsky Proezd and the 1st and 2nd Kotlyakovsky Lanes. All work is planned to be completed by the end of the year.
Since 2011, more than 1,600 kilometers of new roads have been built in the city, 503 tunnels, overpasses, and bridges have been opened: the number of artificial transport structures has increased by more than 70 percent. Additionally, 376 non-street pedestrian crossings have appeared in the capital.
In 2026–2028, it is planned to build 296 kilometers of roads, 46 artificial structures, and 53 pedestrian crossings. This corresponds to the goals and initiatives of the national project. “Infrastructure for Life”.
