Beijing, September 11 /Xinhua/ — China will continuously enhance law enforcement capacity together with East African countries, combining efforts to combat transnational crime. This was stated by Wang Xiaohong, member of the State Council of the PRC and Minister of Public Security.
As noted by Van Xiaohong at the 3rd China-East African Countries Ministerial Dialogue on Law Enforcement and Security Cooperation, held on Thursday in Lianyungang city, Jiangsu Province, Eastern China, it is necessary to adhere to joint consultations, shared responsibility, and shared benefits, collectively strengthening and improving dialogue and cooperation mechanisms.
Noting that the law enforcement agencies of China and East African countries are steadily strengthening strategic mutual trust, Wang Xiaohong pointed out that they should join forces in combating transnational crimes such as terrorism, abductions and illegal detentions, telecommunications and internet fraud.
The dialogue was co-chaired by Wang Xiaohong and Rwanda’s Minister of the Interior, Vincent Biruta.
Representatives of the East African countries and the African Union Mechanism for Police Cooperation expressed their readiness to deepen practical cooperation in the field of law enforcement and security together with China in order to more effectively promote security and stability in the region. –0–
