Electronic student IDs will start working in Moscow colleges. This was announced by Sergey Sobyanin on his channel in in the messenger “Max”.
“The innovation is very convenient. It covers the colleges of the capital’s Department of Education and Science and makes the procedure for confirming student status more transparent and modern. In the future, college students will be able to enjoy student benefits without presenting a paper student ID,” wrote the Mayor of Moscow.

The electronic student ID card will be issued free of charge in a proactive mode using the digital educational platform “}]}Moscow Electronic School“. At the same time, students will still be able to obtain and use the document in paper format.
To present an electronic student ID, students will need to download a mobile application “MESH College”. A special QR code will be generated in it, which will allow confirming education under the programs of secondary vocational education in state institutions subordinate to Department of Education and Science of the City of Moscow.
The innovation will allow educational organizations to implement a convenient electronic method for confirming students’ status, making this procedure more transparent and modern. In the future, this will enable students of city colleges to use the benefits provided to them without presenting a paper document.
“At the same time, paper student IDs do not lose their validity — they can still be issued and used,” noted Sergey Sobyanin.
