The number of Russians who have invested in money market funds on the Moscow Exchange has increased by 33% over the year, exceeding 3 million people. Among corporations, the number of money market fund unit holders exceeded 1.2 thousand (an 83% increase year on year).
The total net inflow of investments through the Moscow Exchange into money market funds since the beginning of 2026 amounted to 125 billion rubles. In total, on the Moscow Exchange is traded 21 exchange-traded mutual fund (ETMF) from 14 management companies.
Dmitry Danilenko, Director of Money Market Development at the Moscow Exchange:
“Interest in money market funds is growing among both private investors and businesses from various economic sectors, as these instruments are known for their reliability and predictable returns close to the key rate of the Bank of Russia. Since the beginning of 2026, investments of such BPIFs and OPIFs in the money market have increased by 36%, reaching 2.2 trillion rubles. We are confident that investor demand for these products will continue to grow, and the money market of the Moscow Exchange will strengthen its position as the most important liquidity center in the country’s financial system.”
