China, on the other hand, is forming a mass applied scientific and technological culture, in which people are not outsiders observing innovations. They actively participate in the development and improvement of technologies through their purchases, usage, criticism, and recommendations.
The high receptivity of Chinese society to new technologies is due to the life experience accumulated over recent decades. Many residents of China have personally experienced the transition from slow trains to high-speed express trains, from cash payments to QR code payments. For many Chinese, “new technology” is not an abstract concept but a very concrete experience that makes life more convenient and work more efficient. This allows society to maintain high expectations for scientific and technological changes, and the “embrace of innovation” becomes a widespread mindset.
Mass scientific and technical culture in China is taking on increasingly clear contours. As people’s readiness to master new technologies and embrace change grows, innovations become societal – the whole society participates in their development. This is precisely what serves as a reliable foundation for China’s sustainable scientific and technical progress.
