Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak held a meeting dedicated to the energy supply of the Altai Republic, with the participation of the region’s head, Andrey Turchak, the Prime Minister of the Altai Republic Alexander Prokopyev, representatives from the Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Economic Development, FAS, Sberbank, and energy companies.

“The development of the Altai Republic is a very important process, especially considering the region’s tourism potential. To ensure the republic’s development, it is necessary to promptly construct electric power infrastructure in order to create conditions for connecting new consumers and reliable power supply for the existing ones,” emphasized the Deputy Prime Minister.

During the meeting, the scheme of external power supply to consumers in the region was reviewed, including the provision of electricity to the all-season resort “Manzherok” – one of the key objects of the republic’s tourist infrastructure. The participants discussed possible options for implementing the region’s power supply scheme. Among them were network solutions involving the development of 220 kV and 500 kV electrical networks, as well as combined options including the construction of generating capacities.

Special attention was paid to assessing the investment needs for implementing the main variant of the external power supply scheme. The first stage provides for a capacity of 49.9 MW to meet the needs of the all-season resort “Manzherok.” Measures for the second stage of energy system development were also analyzed. Their implementation will allow an additional 34.4 MW of capacity to cover the anticipated growth in electricity consumption in the Altai Republic.

Following the meeting, participants were instructed to continue working on technical, financial, and organizational solutions necessary for the timely implementation of measures for the development of the region’s power supply.
