Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev held a working meeting with the Governor of Kemerovo Region – Kuzbass, Ilya Seredyuk. The main topics were the development of the agro-industrial complex, rural areas, and the ecological well-being of the region.
The governor spoke about the progress of this year’s harvesting campaign. The region’s farmers have already collected more than 800 thousand tons of grain. The sowing of winter cereals is gaining momentum, and its area currently accounts for approximately 20% of the forecasted total.
Dmitry Patrushev emphasized the importance of providing farmers with all necessary resources during this period.
Special attention in the Kemerovo region is paid to the comprehensive development of rural areas. Over the period of implementation of the state program of the same name, the region received more than 1.6 billion rubles from the federal budget, and the activities covered about 40 thousand rural residents from 14 districts of Kuzbass. Schools, kindergartens, cultural centers, public utilities and roads are being built and modernized, and public spaces are being improved. In addition, thanks to the state program’s measures, more than 2 thousand families in the region have received new comfortable housing.
Dmitry Patrushev and Ilya Seredyuk also touched upon environmental issues. Within the framework of the national project “Ecological Well-being,” work is being carried out until 2030 in the Kemerovo region to reduce harmful emissions in large cities, develop the waste management system, and improve water bodies.
Under the federal project “Forest Conservation,” measures are being taken in the region to increase the area of forest restoration, and forest seed production and nursery facilities are being created and developed. Thus, by the end of 2025, the area of forest restoration exceeded the area of felled and dead forest stands. In addition, thanks to the measures taken, including the acquisition of forest firefighting equipment and machinery within the framework of the federal project, the situation in combating forest fires is improving – last year, all fires were extinguished within the first day.
