AI will take center stage at the 5th Global Digital Trade Expo

Beijing, September 8 /Xinhua/ — From September 23 to 27, the 5th Global Digital Trade Expo will be held in Hangzhou /administrative center of Zhejiang Province, East China/, dedicated to the development of digital trade and industrial cooperation. The main theme this year is artificial intelligence /AI/. This was announced on Monday by an official at a press conference of the Press Office of the State Council of the PRC.

More than a third of the exhibitors will represent the AI sector, as well as pilot bases for AI implementation, showcasing an innovative full-cycle ecosystem covering foundational models, industry applications, and intelligent devices, noted Yan Dong, Deputy Minister of Commerce of China.

As part of the exhibition, a series of AI competitions will be held, dedicated to areas such as open-source development, embodied intelligence, and neurocomputer interface technologies.

The total exhibition area will be 170 thousand square meters, with more than 20 percent of the total area occupied by pavilions of international exhibitors. The number of foreign pavilions has already exceeded the total number of pavilions from all previous exhibitions.

Malaysia and Hungary will be honorary guests, and representatives from 121 countries and regions, as well as 29 international organizations, have confirmed their participation.

Currently, about 40 thousand professional trade representatives have already registered for the exhibition, including more than 12 thousand from abroad. It is expected that the volume of international orders will amount to 977 million US dollars. -0-
