In the project “Active Citizen» ended voting, dedicated to the summer expedition program “Nature of Moscow.” City residents chose the most interesting lecture topics, formats of eco-walks, and evaluated new audio routes through the natural areas of the capital. More than 140,000 people participated in the voting.
The “Nature of Moscow” expedition took place within the framework of the project “Summer in Moscow” from June 1 to August 31 at nine city venues. These are eco-centers of the capital Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection “Kuzminki,” “Terletsky,” “Eco-school ‘Kuskovo,'” “Vorobyovy Gory,” “Bitsevsky Forest,” “Lesnaya Skazka,” “Nature Museum,” “Losiny Ostrov. Red Pine,” as well as the art park “Muzeon.” Muscovites got acquainted with the nature of the metropolis — its flora and fauna, and also developed new eco-habits. For participating in events, they received special stamps, for which points were awarded points city loyalty program “Million Prizes”.
The voting allowed identifying the most in-demand events among the residents of the capital to take this into account in the further development of the expedition program. Among the leaders are lectures about the wild animals of Moscow and their habits: this option received 25 percent of the votes. Another 24 percent of participants showed interest in the city’s green oases and biodiversity conservation. And the study of the ecosystem of the capital’s water territories, including the Moscow River, attracted 20 percent of those surveyed.
When choosing the format of excursions, city residents showed the greatest preference for the “Nature and History” walk, which combines visits to picturesque places with immersion in legends and acquaintance with historical facts — 30 percent of respondents voted for it. The second most popular was the eco-walk “Health Garden” with breathing practices and “forest baths” (25 percent). The ornithological excursion with bird watching in the natural environment and the botanical one with plant study each received 22 percent of the votes.
A separate topic was dedicated to the audio tour “Enter the Green World” in the Moscow part of the national park “Losiny Ostrov,” during which one could get acquainted with the nature of the reserve and its history, as well as the audio guide “The Trees Speak” in the Muzeon Arts Park, which tells interesting facts about trees. Such formats were highly appreciated by 63 percent of those polled, and 36 percent of participants admitted that they have not yet been on these routes but plan to visit them.
The autumn expedition season has now begun at the eco-centers of the capital’s Department of Environmental Management “The Nature of Moscow” Until November 30, everyone interested can join educational events and adopt new eco-friendly habits.
