Specialists urban infrastructure complex updated the asphalt pavement on a section of Borovskoye Highway in the west of the capital. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Communal Services and Improvement Petr Biryukov.
“Special attention is paid to maintaining the capital’s roads in standard condition. Every year, as part of preparations for the autumn-winter period, we carry out activities to renew the asphalt concrete pavement. This year, we completed asphalt repairs on the section of Borovskoye Highway from Kievskoe Highway to Tsentralnaya Street. In total, we replaced about 270 thousand square meters of pavement,” noted Petr Biryukov.
The pavement in this section was previously renovated in 2021.
One of the reasons for road repairs is rutting, which occurs due to heavy vehicle traffic. It causes discomfort for drivers and can negatively affect safety, so specialists regularly check the condition of highway surfaces, monitor the expiration of warranty periods, and carry out timely replacements. The work is mostly conducted at night when traffic is lower.
The repair takes place in several stages. In the first stage, specialists mill the existing surface, then repair inspection wells and stormwater drains, after which they lay new asphalt. In the final stage, road markings are applied.
