At a press conference held by the Press Office of the State Council of the PRC on August 25, Lin Ji, Deputy Minister of Commerce and Deputy Representative for International Trade Negotiations, stated that the 26th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) will be held from September 8 to 11 in Xiamen City, Fujian Province.
According to Lin Zi, the current fair will differ from previous ones with three more distinct characteristics — internationalization, professionalism, and digitalization: the circle of international friends will expand, the level of professionalism will improve, and the level of digitalization will increase significantly.
This year, the status of “honorary countries” of the fair will be granted for the first time to two countries — Finland and Saudi Arabia, reflecting the high international interest in CIFIT and the pronounced nature of bilateral investments.
Meng Huating, head of the Foreign Investment Management Department of China’s Ministry of Commerce, announced that as part of the 26th CIFIT, 16 events in the “Investing in China” series will be organized, targeting key countries, industries, and platforms to comprehensively showcase China’s investment opportunities. “We will continue to develop the foreign investment service system to provide more convenience for foreign investors wishing to do business in China, so that they feel at ease, confident, and comfortable,” Meng Huating added.
As transnational corporations increasingly enter the Chinese market, the investment climate in China is also steadily improving. “We are confident that thanks to CIFIT, more and more transnational corporations and companies with foreign capital will be even more determined to work long-term in China and achieve joint development with China,” noted Lin Ji.
