The sports festival was held for the second time in the capital “Day of Walking”. It was organized by Moscow City Department of Sports as part of the “Summer in Moscow” project.

A picturesque three-kilometer route from the Rostov embankment to the Luzhniki Olympic Complex was completed by 20,000 participants. The organizers prepared the course in such a way that people of different ages and fitness levels could comfortably move at their own pace.

Before the official start, a warm-up was conducted for all attendees by Olympic cross-country skiing champion Veronika Stepanova, two-time Olympic gymnastics champion Svetlana Khorkina, as well as theater and film actress Ekaterina Strizhenova. One of the largest and most prominent teams at the festival was made up of participants from the “Moscow Longevity” project.

The event aligns with the objectives of the Russian Federation’s state program “Development of Physical Culture and Sports” and the national project “Sport of Russia” and the information campaign “Motivation for Sports Participation and Promotion of Sports Infrastructure.” More about Russia’s national projects and the capital’s contribution can be found at special page.
