The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and the Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin inaugurated the Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya line of the Moscow Metro from the “Delovoy Tsentr” station to the “General Karbyshev Boulevard” station.
“Today we are opening the new, 17th, Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya metro line, the first five stations. The next five stations will be opened next year, and the business center of Moscow will be connected to ‘SberCity,’ another large center that is being developed very actively,” said Sergey Sobyanin.
According to the Mayor of Moscow, 130 new stations have already been built to date. The plans until 2030 include the construction of another 30 stations, three electric depots, as well as 75 kilometers of roads.
“We continue to build actively, sometimes even going beyond the Moscow Ring Road, moving toward the Moscow region, because, essentially, this is one agglomeration, one large city,” noted Sergey Sobyanin.
The length of the first section is 8.7 kilometers, with five stations along the route: “Delovoy Tsentr,” “Shelepikha,” “Zvenigorodskaya,” “Narodnoe Opolchenie,” and “Bulvar Generala Karbysheva.” Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya became the 17th line of the Moscow metro. On the Moscow transport map, it will be depicted in graphite color.
“Thanks to this, more than 550 thousand residents of the Presnensky, Khoroshevo-Mnevniki, Shchukino, Dorogomilovo, and Filevsky Park districts will be able to move around the city faster. They have convenient transfers to the MCC and three metro lines: Solntsevskaya, Filevskaya, and the BCL. Now it takes three times less time to get to the city center,” wrote the Mayor of Moscow on his channel in

It is expected that on the open section, city residents will make more than 90 thousand trips per day, and by 2030 their number will increase by almost 50 percent and exceed 130 thousand. More than 65 thousand passengers will use transfers to other lines daily.
All five stations have been built with maximum passenger comfort in mind. In the vestibules, there are ticket vending machines and turnstiles manufactured locally, where travel can be paid for by all available methods, including biometric payment. On the platforms and in the tunnels, passengers have access to a high-speed 4G mobile network. In addition, 160 digital displays have been installed at the stations on the Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya line.
Only the most modern Russian trains “Moscow-2026” operate on the Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya line. Twelve trainsets have been deployed on the line, which will ensure comfortable intervals between services. Their advantages include walk-through passages, maximally wide doors, about 400 charging ports for devices, media screens, adaptive lighting, powerful climate control systems, updated seats without metal joints, and increased car capacity.
Preparation for the opening of the first section of the Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya line included a series of strict inspections by specialists from the Moscow Metro. At the same time, work was carried out to improve the areas adjacent to the stations: pedestrian accessibility was enhanced and convenient access routes were provided. Currently, surface transport routes are being optimized.
Thanks to the opening of a new section in the Moscow Metro, more than 330 jobs with stable income and social guarantees from the Moscow Government have been created. The opening of the next section — from “General Karbyshev Boulevard” to “Novorizhskaya” — is scheduled for 2027, and the section from “Novorizhskaya” to “Emerald Hills” is planned for 2030. It is expected that by 2030, the passenger flow on the line will triple and exceed 250,000 people per day.
“The new line will be served by the Solntsevo electric depot. In the future —
“Novorizhskoye”, the completion of which we plan for next year,” wrote the Mayor of Moscow on his channel in in the messenger “Max”.

Business Center Station
The “Delovoy Tsentr” station of the Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya line is located in the center of the Moscow International Business Center (MIBC) “Moscow-City” — at the intersection of Testovskaya Street and Presnenskaya Embankment. From 2018 to 2024, it operated as part of the Big Circle Line (BCL).
The station is part of one of the largest transport hubs in Moscow. Six rail frame lines converge here: the Filevskaya, Solntsevskaya, and Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya metro lines, the MCC, the first, and the fourth Moscow Central Diameters (MCD).
The depth of the “Delovoy Tsentr” station is 24.5 meters. Two underground vestibules with exits to the Moscow International Business Center “Moscow-City” serve passengers, and two elevators have been installed for people with limited mobility. The design predominantly features light tones, mainly using metal and glass.
It is expected that after the opening of the Delovoy Tsentr station on the Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya metro line, more than 21 thousand passengers will use it daily, and by 2030 — over 33 thousand. Meanwhile, the passenger flow of the entire transport hub in the Moscow International Business Center (MIBC) area already exceeds 100 thousand people per day, and by 2030 this figure should surpass 170 thousand.
Passengers are transported to the transport hub by eight ground urban transport routes, used by more than 50,000 people daily. To improve access to the transport hubs “Delovoy Tsentr” and “Moscow-City,” the route network will be changed.
Shelepikha Station
The Shelepikha station of the Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya line is located on the territory of the Moscow International Business Center “Moscow-City” near the intersection of Shmitovsky Passage and Shelepikhinskoye Highway. Like the Delovoy Tsentr station, it operated as part of the Large Circle Line from 2018 to 2024. Here, you can transfer to the eponymous MCC station in less than two minutes. More than six thousand people will use this transfer daily.
The station’s depth is 20 meters. For passengers, there are two underground vestibules with exits to Shmitovsky Drive and Shelepiikhinsky Highway, and two elevators are installed for people with limited mobility. The station’s design is dominated by light tones with yellow accents. The ceiling and vaults above the columns are painted black, which visually expands the space.
It is expected that after the opening of the Shelepikha station of the Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya metro line, more than 18,000 passengers will use it daily. By 2030, the passenger flow is expected to exceed 28,000 people. Six convenient surface city transport routes will bring passengers to the station.
Zvenigorodskaya Station
The Zvenigorodskaya station of the Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya line is located near the intersection of Shenogina Street, Shelepikhinskoye Highway, and 1st Silikatny Proezd. Nearby is the Heart of the Capital pier of the first route of regular river electric transport.
The station is located at a depth of 28.4 meters. Two underground vestibules are available for passengers, with exits to the existing and prospective residential developments, and eight elevators have been installed for citizens with reduced mobility.
The architectural concept of the station creates a light, bright platform space, and the dynamic shapes of the columns visually make it appear more airy. The color scheme is monochromatic with bright, light tones predominantly, contrasted by dark and light shades on the track walls. The ceiling and columns are clad with three-layer aluminum panels, while the floors and vestibule walls are made of natural granite. The central design element of the track walls and ticket halls consists of artistic panels made of bronze and brass featuring sights of Zvenigorod, one of the oldest cities in the Moscow Region.
The ground-level pavilions are designed in a concise trapezoidal shape. The highlight is the slanted entrance portals finished with white metal panels.
More than 55 thousand city residents from new residential complexes located along Shelepikhinskoye Highway received a metro station within walking distance. It is expected that “Zvenigorodskaya” will be used by over 15 thousand passengers daily, and by 2030 — more than 30 thousand.
The opening of the station has significantly reduced travel time for residents of the nearby neighborhoods. The trip to the Large Circle Line (BCL) now takes about five minutes instead of 25 (five times faster), and to the Moscow International Business Center “Moscow-City” — five minutes instead of 30 (six times faster).
As part of the improvements, the Zvenigorodskaya station has been provided with new comfortable approaches, stops, and pedestrian crossings. For the convenience of passenger transportation, four surface transport routes will pass nearby.
Narodnoe Opolchenie Station
The “Narodnoe Opolchenie” station of the Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya line is located along Demyan Bedny Street at the intersection with Marshal Zhukov Avenue. Here, you can transfer to the station of the same name on the BCL. Near the station is one of the largest hospitals in Moscow — City Clinical Hospital No. 67 named after L.A. Vorokhobov.
The station’s depth is 24 meters. Two underground vestibules serve passengers with exits on both sides of Demyan Bedny Street and Marshal Zhukov Avenue, and six elevators are installed for passengers with limited mobility.
The main architectural feature consists of two rows of brightly lit columns of complex shape, which smoothly transition into the vaults of the station hall. The floor is clad with light gray granite, the socles of the platform walls are black granite, and the platform walls are aluminum honeycomb panels in black and red colors. Steel was used for the column finishes.
The floors and walls of the vestibules are decorated in light tones and faced with granite slabs. The suspended ceiling consists of three-layer aluminum panels with white honeycomb filling and black aluminum slats with integrated LED light lines. Decorative metal rectangular panels dedicated to the heroes of the people’s militia, with a red star in the center, are placed on the track walls. Opposite the turnstiles on the vestibule wall is a thematic bas-relief with lighting and built-in screens. On them, you can see photographs of militia members and historical information about the events of the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945.
It is expected that after the opening, the Narodnoe Opolchenie station will serve more than 12,000 passengers per day. By 2030, this number will rise to 14,000. For residents of the nearby development, travel time has been reduced threefold: it now takes 10 minutes to reach the Moscow International Business Center (MIBC) “Moscow-City” (instead of 30). According to experts’ estimates, 40,000 passengers will use the transfer between the Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya line and the Big Circle Line (BCL) daily, and by 2030 this number will double. The transfer takes less than two minutes.
During the improvement, the station was provided with convenient approaches, stops, and pedestrian crossings. For passenger delivery, 11 routes of surface city transport will pass nearby.
Sobyanin: Metro construction has reached the highest pace in five years
General Karbyshev Boulevard Station
The “General Karbyshev Boulevard” station of the Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya line is located parallel to Marshal Tukhachevsky Street at the intersection with General Karbyshev Boulevard. Its depth is 18.6 meters. There are two underground vestibules serving passengers, with exits on both sides of Marshal Tukhachevsky Street and General Karbyshev Boulevard, and six elevators have been installed for mobility-impaired residents.
The station’s design is dominated by light gray and white tones. Light plays a key role: LED installations highlight specific interior details and provide comfortable lighting. The platform columns are decorated with artistic bas-reliefs dedicated to military engineers, and on the track walls is a model of the “Gold Star” medal of the Hero of the Soviet Union—located to the left of the first letter of the station’s name. This title was posthumously awarded in 1946 to Lieutenant General of the Engineer Troops Dmitry Karbyshev (1880–1945), who died in the Mauthausen concentration camp, whose life became a model of courage and heroism for many generations of Russian citizens.
The glazed entrance pavilions have a trapezoidal shape and are clad with white metal panels. Their design is dedicated to various aspects of combat work of the engineering troops.
The new station has improved transportation services for 300,000 residents of the Shchukino and Khoroshevo-Mnevniki districts. It will also be used by employees of major scientific and educational institutions: the Karpinsky All-Russian Scientific Research Geological Institute, the Kurchatov Institute Research Center, the Moscow City Pedagogical University, the Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics, and the Police College.
It is expected that after the opening, the General Karbyshev Boulevard station will be used by 24,000 passengers daily, and by 2030 this figure will reach 25,000. Local residents can reach the Moscow International Business Center (MIBC) “Moscow-City” three times faster — in 15 minutes instead of 45. In addition, for those living near the station, travel time to the Big Circle Line (BCL) has been reduced by 10 minutes.
As part of the improvement, the station is equipped with new access routes, stops, and pedestrian crossings. Nearby, 12 routes of surface urban transport will run.

Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya metro line
The length of the Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya line of the capital’s metro will be 28.6 kilometers, with 12 stations. The metro line will run from the Moscow International Business Center “Moscow-City” to Rublyovo-Arkhangelskoye beyond the MKAD, and prospectively— to Krasnogorsk. The stations are equipped with the most modern services for passengers. Already today, new high-tech trains of the “Moscow-2026” series, among the best in the world, operate on the line.
The line will directly connect two of the largest business districts: the Moscow International Business Center “Moscow-City” and SberCity in the new Rublyovo-Arkhangelskoye district, and the trip will take only 30 minutes.
The opening of all stations on the Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya metro line will allow:
— to improve transport services for more than one million current and future residents of seven central, western, and northwestern districts of Moscow, including the blocks renovations and complex development areas. Among the districts are Presnensky, Dorogomilovo, Filevsky Park, Shchukino, Strogino, Khoroshevo-Mnevniki, and Kuntsevo. In addition, the line will improve transportation services in Krasnogorsk;
— to create new route options for convenient multimodal trips around the city. Passengers will be able to take advantage of quick transfers on the Large Circle Line, Solntsevskaya, Filevskaya, and Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya metro lines, as well as the MCC and the MCD. More than 167 thousand people will use these transfers daily;
— to ensure transport accessibility of the promising “SberCity” district in Rublyovo-Arkhangelskoye, where 65 thousand people will live and more than 70 thousand jobs will be created, linking it with the business quarter of the MIBC “Moscow-City”;
— to improve transport accessibility to popular recreational spots for city residents in the Strogino district;
— to reduce the load on the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya and Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya metro lines;
— reduce the intensity of vehicle traffic on the adjacent street-road network, which, in turn, will improve the environmental situation in the northwest of Moscow. Rublyovskoye Highway, Marshal Zhukov Avenue, and Novorizhskoye Highway will become 10 percent freer.
The “Delovoy Tsentr” and “Shelepikha” stations were opened in 2018 as part of the BCL. In 2024, they were temporarily closed for integration work with the Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya line, and today they became part of its first opened section.
In 2021, construction began on the Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya line section from “Shelepikha” station to “Lipovaya Roscha.” Its length is 12.7 kilometers, and it includes six new stations:
— Zvenigorodskaya station — near the intersection of Shenogina Street, Shelepikhinskoe Highway, and 1st Silikatny Drive;
— Narodnoe Opolchenie station — along Demyan Bedny street at the intersection with Marshal Zhukov Avenue. Here you can transfer to the station of the same name on the Big Circle Line (BCL);
— the station “General Karbyshev Boulevard” — parallel to Marshal Tukhachevsky Street at the intersection with General Karbyshev Boulevard;
– the “Serebryany Bor” station – along Parshina Street near the intersection with Zhivopisnaya Street;
— “Strogino” station — along Stroginsky Boulevard. It will become a transfer point to the station of the same name on the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line;
— The station “Lipovaya Roscha” — located in the Moscow region along the Moscow Ring Road (MKAD) between the Novorizhskoye highway and the residential and public development area “Sputnik”.
The Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya line was created using information modeling technology. Its main advantage is the reduction of design and construction time. For the section between the “Shelepikha” and “General Karbyshev Boulevard” stations, 134 digital information models were created. Each of them accumulates key data about the object: materials, dimensions, construction and operational characteristics. These are digital twins of stations, adjacent facilities, and track sections.
In 2024–2025, construction began on the section from Lipovaya Roscha station to Novorizhskaya. Its length is six kilometers, including two new stations:
— the “SberCity” station, which is located on the territory of the Rublevo-Arkhangelskoye microdistrict in the Kuntsevo district between Projected Passages No. 7120 and 7101;
— Novorizhskaya station — it is located in the Kuntsevo district between Ilyinsky Highway and the 23rd kilometer of Novorizhskoye Highway.
In February–April 2025, the tunnel boring mechanical complexes (TBMC) “Natali” and “Viktoria” began tunneling the running tunnels between the “SberCity” and “Lipovaya Roscha” stations. In July 2025, the TBMC “Alexandra” started constructing the left running tunnel between the “SberCity” and “Novorizhskaya” stations. In the same month, the second giant shield TBMC “Maria” started tunneling from the “Lipovaya Roscha” station towards “Strogino” and completed tunneling in June 2026.
In October 2025, the TBM “Lily” completed the excavation of a large tunnel with a diameter of 10 meters between the stations “General Karbyshev Boulevard” and “Serebryany Bor.” In the same month, the TBM “Sofia” started the excavation of the right tunnel between the stations “SberCity” and “Novorizhskaya.”
On January 15 of this year, the TBM “Lilia” began constructing a large tunnel 10 meters in diameter from the “Serebryany Bor” station to “Strogino.” On February 26, the tunneling of the running tunnels between the “SberCity” and “Lipovaya Roscha” stations was completed, which the TBMs “Natali” and “Victoria” started between February and April 2025.
In the future, it is planned to extend the Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya line to Krasnogorsk and build two more stations — “Krasnogorsk” and “Izumrudnye Kholmy”, which currently have working titles.
