On October 3 and 4, the IX half marathon “My Capital” will take place in Moscow. It concludes the annual all-Russian tourist series “Running the Golden Ring” and is rightly considered one of the main events of the season. This year, more than 17 thousand athletes and over 20 thousand fans from all over Russia will participate in the event.
The half marathon route will pass by iconic places of the capital. Participants will start at University Square, run past the observation deck at Vorobyovy Gory and the Grand Sports Arena of the Luzhniki Olympic Complex, and will see the Moscow River and city embankments from the Borodinsky Bridge.
On Saturday, October 3rd, races will be held at distances of one and five kilometers, as well as a children’s start at a distance of 500 meters. For students of adaptive culture schools, a “Run of Unlimited Opportunities” will be organized at a distance of 500 meters. On Sunday, October 4th, competitions will take place at distances of 10 and 21.1 kilometers. In addition, athletes, running enthusiasts, and fans of a healthy lifestyle will be awaited by educational and entertainment events.

The competitions are held with the support of the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation and Moscow City Department of Sports. The event aligns with the objectives of the Russian Federation’s state programs ‘Development of Physical Culture and Sports’ and ‘Sport of Russia.’ One of these goals is to increase the proportion of citizens who regularly engage in physical culture and sports to 70 percent by 2030. The capital makes a decisive contribution to achieving this goal. Particular attention is paid to the walkability of infrastructure, support for families with children, as well as the integration of participants and veterans of the special military operation and their family members into the sports community.
