Visitors to VDNKh on September 5 and 6 can enjoy over 80 events in honor of 879th anniversary of Moscow — from artists’ performances and dance lessons to tours introducing the history of the capital. This was reported by Natalya Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of Moscow.
“The themed areas at the country’s main exhibition will reflect the lives of Muscovites from different generations. They will be styled in the spirit of a particular decade — from the mid-20th century to the present day,” said Natalia Sergunina.
The immersive journey will begin in the “1950s Yard,” which will be located in front of Pavilion No. 1 “Central.” Songs from the post-war years will be performed on stage here, and dance floor master classes on the waltz and foxtrot will be held.
Passing through the pavilion, visitors will be transported to the 1960s — an era marked by the development of science and art. Everyone interested will be able to join creative workshops, listen to retro hits, or read books in the library hall.
In the “1970s Yard” near public service center “My Documents” For city residents, interactive installations and a photo zone with the legendary “Moskvich” car will be prepared. At the sports ground behind the “Friendship of Peoples” fountain, visitors will be able to experience the atmosphere of the 1980s and test their physical fitness.
In a space that combines the present and the future, guests will be greeted by a robo-dog and a robot who will offer to play a game of chess.
The pavilions will host themed lectures and tours. For example, on September 5 and 6, visitors to the Slavic Writing Museum “Slovo” will be told about the main stages stories of Moscow starting from the days of its founding and up to the present.
On September 6, they will discuss in the “Books” pavilion of the State Museum and Exhibition Center “Rosizo” features of different regional dialects and explain what distinguishes the language culture of Muscovites.
At the venue of the show model “My Russia” on September 5 and 6, you will be able to learn about well-known places of the capital and examine miniature replicas of city landmarks.
