The new season of the capital’s public projects competition “Faces of the District” brought together more than a thousand Muscovites. They submitted over 800 individual and group applications and presented their socially significant initiatives or already operating programs — ranging from charitable and patriotic campaigns to sports tournaments and creative workshops.
“This year the competition program has expanded: new categories have appeared for non-profit organizations (NPOs), socially oriented businesses, and youth associations. The most active participants came from the Central, Eastern, Western, and Southern districts,” she said

Applications were accepted in five categories, each highlighting different directions: family values and communities, ecology, urban studies and tourism, healthcare and inclusiveness, sports, arts, personal development, education, and media. Patriotic volunteering and humanitarian aid are the most popular. This category brought together more than 120 projects.
The business program of the competition will last until November. It includes four thematic tracks with lectures, trainings, round tables, and meetings with experts.
“Networking meetings have already started for the contestants. Participants get to know each other and industry specialists, present their initiatives, and talk about their professional competencies and available resources. This format helps to expand the contact base and find like-minded people,” noted Pavel Ermalchuk, Director of the Agency for Public Projects.
The city competition for public projects “Faces of the District” is held by the Agency for Public Projects within the “Territory of Opportunities” ecosystem Department of Territorial Executive Authorities of Moscow. It unites authors of public initiatives: active residents of the capital, representatives of non-profit organizations, volunteer associations, and entrepreneurs. Since 2020, Muscovites have submitted more than 5,500 applications.
