From September 14 to 18, the final of the high technology championship will take place in Veliky Novgorod at the innovative scientific and technological center “Intelligent Electronics – Valday” and the Novgorod Technical School. It is expected that 15 thousand people will participate – representatives from all regions of Russia and 30 foreign countries.

“The final of the High Technology Championship will take place in Veliky Novgorod within the framework of the national project ‘Youth and Children.’ The main theme of the competition will be the development of the transport industry and the implementation of related national projects. The tasks of 20 competencies will focus specifically on this theme. Overall, more than 10,000 companies support the professional skills movement. In 2026, they have already offered participants over 50,000 internships and job openings. Such close cooperation with employers helps to discover talents and apply them to achieve technological leadership of our country in accordance with the national goals set by President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin,” stated Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.

Finalists will compete in competencies such as “Transport Data Analyst,” “Intelligent Transport Systems Specialist,” “Developer of Small Unmanned Aerial Systems for Cargo Delivery to Remote Regions,” “Operator of Additive Construction Complexes for Transport Infrastructure,” and others.

“The High Technology Championship works proactively and sets the direction for the development of the secondary vocational education system. The competencies are based on training areas that will become widely in demand in the next two to three years. At the championship final venues, contestants will engage in solving applied problems for high-tech transport, as well as testing prototypes of finished products. Based on the championship results, we have the opportunity to promptly integrate advanced solutions into college educational programs so that enterprises receive specialists ready to tackle complex technological challenges from their very first working day,” emphasized Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov.

Minister of Transport Andrey Nikitin noted that the experience of the Novgorod region, which annually hosts the final of the high-tech championship, confirms that a successful resolution of the personnel issue is only possible with engaged interaction between the education system and employers.

“This approach is precisely what underpins the championship, which each year attracts increasing attention not only from participants across the regions of Russia but also from foreign countries. And for the country’s transport sector, this is critically important. The industry faces large-scale tasks to achieve technological sovereignty, implement unmanned systems, automation, and digitalization. Solving these problems without talented specialists capable of working at a world-class level in line with future technologies is simply impossible. The high-tech championship serves as a key forge for exactly such personnel.”, – he added.

The high technology championship final is being held in Veliky Novgorod for the fourth time.

“Veliky Novgorod will for the fourth time host one of the main professional skills competitions in our country – the final of the high technologies championship. This year it will become even bigger and more spectacular. We expect more than 15,000 guests from all regions of Russia and 30 friendly countries,” emphasized Alexander Dronov, Governor of Novgorod Oblast.

An important stage of preparation for the final was the educational intensive “Innovations Workshop,” which took place in June – July 2026. The project allowed contestants and experts to familiarize themselves in advance with the new competition tasks and modern practices.

Traditionally, the final events include an extensive business program featuring industry experts, leading employers, and government representatives, as well as career guidance tracks for youth.

“Together with the industrial partners of the high-tech championship, we are building a rapid response system to the country’s technological challenges. Business participates at all stages: it forms the demand for new competencies, helps create competition tasks, and evaluates participants’ results based on real industry requirements. The best solutions, tested in the championship, become the basis for updating college programs and federal state educational standards,” commented Sergey Kozhevnikov, rector of the Institute for Professional Education Development.

The winners and prize-winners of the high-tech championship final, as well as their mentors, will receive government-established awards ranging from 100,000 to 300,000 rubles depending on the place occupied.

Key enterprises in the transport industry are partners of the high-tech championship: JSC “Russian Railways”, LLC “NPS High-Speed Technologies”, LLC “GK ‘Quiet Wings'”, LLC “VSM-Service”, PJSC “Yakovlev”, and others. They provide the most successful championship participants with jobs and internships.

The All-Russian championship movement for professional skills “Professionals” includes the “Professionals” championship and the high-tech championship. It is aimed at supporting talented youth, strengthening human resource potential, and ensuring Russia’s technological sovereignty. The organizer is the Ministry of Education, and the federal operator is the Institute for the Development of Professional Education.
