Beijing, September 1 /Xinhua/ — The Chinese side will actively promote the elimination of legitimate concerns of American companies operating in China and, in accordance with the law, maintain a market environment based on fair competition. This was stated on Tuesday by Premier of the State Council of the PRC, Li Qiang.
Li Qiang made this statement during a meeting in Beijing with Ryan McInerney, Chairman of the Board of the U.S.-China Business Council, and the delegation he led.
Li Qiang also expressed hope that the American side will move toward the Chinese side, appropriately address its concerns, and jointly implement the results of bilateral trade and economic consultations.
Noting that the committee has long been committed to the development of China-US relations and trade-economic cooperation, playing an important role in this, Li Qiang stated that China is ready to work with the American side to follow the strategic guidance of the two heads of state and promote the formation of constructive strategic stability in China-US relations.
Li Qiang pointed out that the essence of China-US trade and economic relations lies in mutual benefit and win-win outcomes. According to him, strengthening cooperation is both an inherent internal need of both sides and the right choice.
As noted by the head of the Chinese government, China is probably the only market in the world with rich potential, combining both enormous scale and dynamic innovation. In particular, he continued, consumption of high-quality and upgraded levels, such as intelligent and environmentally friendly consumption, is growing rapidly. China welcomes the efforts of American companies to actively seize emerging opportunities, expand their presence in the Chinese market, and explore it in depth, added Li Qiang.
At the same time, Li Qiang noted that, considering the scale of China-US trade and economic cooperation, the emergence of individual disagreements and frictions is quite natural. He emphasized that under the condition of mutual respect and mutual understanding, as well as strengthened communication and consultations, the parties will always be able to find a solution.
The Premier of the State Council expressed hope that the US-China Business Council will continue to use its influence to encourage all American public circles to perceive China’s development rationally and objectively.
R. McInerney and other members of the delegation on their part assured that the American business community is full of confidence in the successful implementation of China’s 15th Five-Year Development Plan /2026-2030/ and in the prospects for the development of the Chinese economy, and also expressed the desire to continue expanding investments in the PRC, firmly remaining a long-term partner in China’s development and a constructive force in Sino-American relations.
Delegation representatives stated that the US-China Business Council is ready to play a connecting role, promoting the strengthening of mutual understanding, mutual trust, and cooperation between the two parties. –0–
