Specialists urban economy complex continue landscaping the area near the second Butovo station Moscow Central Diameter (MCD-2). This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Communal Services and Improvement Pyotr Biryukov.
“Currently, we are tidying up the area near the MCD-2 Butovo station. The scope of work includes sections of Bolshaya Butovskaya Street, Staronarodnaya Street, Dzhankoyskaya Street, and Melitopolskyi Proezd, as well as the Constructor Simonov square. The main task is to create convenient routes for pedestrians and motorists, adding modernity and functionality to the space,” noted Petr Biryukov.
The overhead lines were moved underground into a cable duct measuring 7.3 kilometers in length. This allowed for an improved appearance of the area and ensured the safe operation of communications. In addition, a stormwater drainage system was installed.
As part of the project, the pavement on 10,700 square meters of sidewalks was replaced, and 15,500 square meters of asphalt was laid on the roadway. In the near future, specialists will apply road markings and install road signs. To enhance comfort and safety during nighttime, over 110 lamps with energy-efficient fixtures were installed. Nearly 30 supports with contrasting lighting were equipped at unregulated pedestrian crossings.
An additional new stop for city surface transport was placed on the territory. Four more pavilions were relocated in accordance with the new transport scheme to make their location more convenient for passengers. Currently, specialists are connecting the stops to power supply lines. Parking lots are also being equipped for motorists.
“The improvement project of the area near the MCD-2 Butovo station is an example of creating a unified seamless environment for public transport passengers and car owners that reduces unnecessary pressure on the roads. Thanks to this, residents will have the opportunity to leave their cars at the MCD station and transfer from a car or bus to the Moscow Central Diameter train. In addition, this project emphasized the reconstruction of the existing bus platform. By rearranging the bus stops, passenger movement will become safer and faster,” said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.
As part of the landscaping, the Constructor Simonov square between Bolshaya Butovskaya and Staronarodnaya streets is also being renovated. The paths’ surfaces are being replaced, the area near the stele with the gunsmith’s bust is being tidied up, the existing children’s playground and workout zone are being reconstructed.
Greening is a mandatory part of all capital improvement projects. More than 17 thousand square meters of lawn are planned to be planted on the streets adjacent to the Butovo station of MCD-2.
