In special economic zone The (SEZ) “Technopolis Moscow” has launched mass production of ultrasound scanners with built-in artificial intelligence (AI). The innovative device helps doctors conduct examinations and analyze data by automating routine operations. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry. Maxim Liksutov.
“By the order of Sergey Sobyanin, the city is consistently creating conditions for the development of high-tech industries. Residents of the capital’s special economic zone develop and manufacture products that are in demand in various fields, including healthcare. Recently, serial production of ultrasound scanners with AI was established here. Currently, 11 such devices are already operating in medical institutions in Saint Petersburg, Moscow, Kursk, Ryazan, Sverdlovsk, and Rostov regions, as well as in Altai and Stavropol territories,” noted Maksim Liksutov.
The “RuScan 80” scanner is equipped with a widescreen monitor with a diagonal of 23.8 inches and a 14-inch touchscreen control panel. The device addresses tasks in various areas of medicine. Obstetricians and gynecologists have access to high-density monocrystalline sensors and volumetric visualization, allowing them to see all stages of the child’s development. Cardiologists, thanks to the assessment of myocardial contractility and stress tests, can detect heart pathologies at early stages. For oncologists, an elastography mode is provided: ultrasound scans the tissues and helps identify neoplasms.
The developer and manufacturer of the device is the scientific-production association (NPO) “Scanner,” which has been a resident of the SEZ “Technopolis Moscow” since 2022. The company has specialized in ultrasonic diagnostic systems under the “RuScan” brand since 2006. The lineup includes eight models covering all segments of ultrasonic diagnostics — from a portable device for emergency services to a flagship scanner for perinatal and oncology centers.
All models are registered with the Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare and included in the register of Russian industrial products. Medical devices are supplied to all regions of the country. The total number of installed devices exceeds four thousand units.
To increase production efficiency, NPO “Scanner” systematically improves its processes. Previously, the enterprise within the framework of the federal project “}Labor productivity» optimized the production of ultrasound systems, selecting the manufacturing process of the “RuScan 65” model as the pilot batch. Over six months, with the support of experts from ANO “Mosstrategiya,” the company reduced the manufacturing time for one device by almost a third — from 18.4 to 12.5 hours, and increased the output per employee by 27 percent. The economic benefit to the enterprise from participating in the project exceeded 22.5 million rubles.
The capital is creating a foundation for the country’s technological sovereignty. Thanks to urban solutions and support measures, the residents of the SEZ “Technopolis Moscow” are increasing the production of innovative products and expanding their presence in global markets.
