In honor of City Day, on September 6, an event will take place in Moscow autumn tram parade. A procession of 18 historical carriages from different generations will travel through the streets of the capital. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry Maxim Liksutov.
“We continue to develop the capital’s tram system and promote this type of transport, as instructed by Sergey Sobyanin. This year, for the third time, we are holding a tram parade — now it will take place in honor of City Day. This is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of Moscow of past years and learn more about how urban transport has changed. We have prepared a rich program for the residents and guests of the capital. I invite everyone to join the celebration on September 6 and spend this day with us!” — said Maxim Liksutov.
The event will begin at 11:30 at the turnaround ring near Kursky railway station. The procession will proceed to Sergiy Radonezhsky Street, where from 12:00 to 17:00 there will be an exhibition of historic trams and vintage cars.
A festive program will be prepared for the guests. Soviet arcade machines from the 1980s will be exhibited on site, a themed quiz will be held, and interactive zones with reenactors will also be available. In addition, in the retro photo zone, guests will be able to take memorable photos and immediately print them. Interactive games and workshops will also be organized for children.
The program includes free treats and drinks, and performers on stage will include artists from the “Music in the Metro” project, the Moscow Metro academic choir, and a secret musical guest.
