The All-Russian Society of Inventors and Innovators (VOIR), with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, is launching the all-Russian festival of scientific and technical creativity and invention “The Inventor’s Path.”
The series of festival events will take place from September to November 2026. It will bring together schoolchildren, students, young scientists, engineers, technology entrepreneurs, and mentors.
“With the support of President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, we are restoring the powerful institution of invention and scientific-technological creativity, which in Soviet times united millions of people. The activities of the All-Russian Society of Inventors and Rationalizers, along with the measures of the national project ‘Youth and Children’ and the Decade of Science and Technology, are intended to engage Russians in the field of research and development, as well as to become drivers of technological development in our country. Thus, over three years, the VOIR festival ‘Inventor’s Path’ has reached 750 thousand participants — young innovators across the country, and the number of inventions presented at exhibitions exceeded 1.5 thousand,” noted Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of VOIR Dmitry Chernyshenko.
The large-scale event will cover the following regions of the country: Voronezh, Volgograd, Irkutsk, Kaliningrad, Kurgan, Nizhny Novgorod, Omsk, Penza, Tyumen, Rostov, Ryazan, Tula, Tomsk, Tyumen, Ulyanovsk regions, the DPR, the Komi Republic, Tatarstan, Khakassia and Udmurtia, the Trans-Baikal Territory, and the city of Sevastopol.
Festival participants will be able to acquire practical skills in creating and implementing new technical solutions, receive patent legal support and consultations on intellectual property protection, communicate with company representatives, experts, and potential investors for the commercialization of developments, as well as have the opportunity to be included in the VOIR Best Practices Bank.
The “Inventor’s Path” festival is implemented according to a full-cycle model: from educational lessons and workshops to design and engineering competitions, exhibitions, and business forums with the participation of industrial partners and regional government representatives. In 2026, it is planned to hold 35 events. More than 20,000 people are expected to participate, and over 350 inventions and innovative developments will be presented at the exhibition venues.
The festival slogan is “Invent for Russia!”. Events will be held within the framework of implementing the goals outlined in the decree of President Vladimir Putin and will be aimed at fostering inventive activity as a clear and prestigious professional track: from idea and patenting to income, public recognition, and the implementation of developments in the real economy sector.
“The overall major goal is to achieve technological leadership for Russia. Today, it is especially important to unite the efforts of the state, universities, scientific organizations, enterprises, and inventors themselves so that talented ideas can move more quickly from conception to practical implementation. We are restoring VOIR as a powerful institution of invention and scientific-technical creativity – a locomotive of the country’s technological development. The ‘Inventor’s Path’ festival is precisely the platform that allows young scientists and students to gain real opportunities to develop their projects. The potential for mass involvement of citizens in scientific and technical creativity in our country is enormous,” emphasized Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Konstantin Mogilevsky.
The festival covers dozens of cities – from Kaliningrad to Khabarovsk, from Sevastopol to Syktyvkar.
The International Forum of Innovators, Inventors, and Technological Entrepreneurs “Creating the Future” (Ulyanovsk, September 17–18) is a major two-day event featuring a plenary session, an exhibition of defense industry enterprises’ inventions, and a special exposition “Technologies Serving the Country’s Security.”
Siberian forum “Omich Inventions” (Omsk, September 13) is a unique event held at the Omsk Auto Armored Engineering Institute featuring showcase performances by cadets: tank waltz, combat training of paratroopers, crossing of a water obstacle course by robotic complexes, and a master class on assembly and disassembly of cars called “Turbo-assembly.”
Masterclass and hackathon for school students “Idea. Project. Action” (Donetsk, September 26) – a practical event where participants go through the journey from an inspiring lecture to teamwork on an engineering challenge, and then defend their projects before an expert jury.
The Future Forum “Inventor’s Path. Growth Point – Tyumen” (Tyumen, September – November) is a large-scale project that unites the interregional lecture marathon of the All-Russian Society of Inventors and Rationalizers (VOIR) (10 lectures), the educational dictation “Inventor’s Path” (more than 1,000 participants), and the international creative contest “#NotMagic: Inventor’s Path” with teams from 15 regions of Russia and 3 CIS countries.
The Interregional Youth Forum of Creative Thinking and Invention “Facets of the Future – 2026” (Abakan, October 29–30) is an interregional forum that includes a plenary discussion with heads of regional departments, an exhibition of innovative projects “TECHNOperspective”, a competition of project-research works, as well as the hackathon “HACKIT: neural networks for regional development” and the Young Technician and Inventor Day with interactive workshops on robotics, 3D modeling, and neural networks.
The conference “Industry Science in Action” (Kaliningrad, November 20) is an exhibition and conference featuring the winners of the Russian Science Foundation competition, the international forum “Step into the Future,” and the Rosrybolovstvo biohackathon “Fairway 2025.”
II Izhevsk Interregional Forum “Inventions of Udmurtia” (Izhevsk, October 22–23) – plenary session, exhibition of scientific and technical projects across three sections (professional, student, school) and a series of lectures on intellectual property management, TRIZ, and the application of AI in mechanical engineering.
The regional contest “Mama Innovator” (Rostov-on-Don, November 27) is a unique competition for women inventors and tech entrepreneurs who hold patents and implemented developments.
Scientific and technical competitions in UAV control on the “Drone Racing” simulator (Voronezh, October 17) and the project-research work contest “The Inventor’s Path” (Voronezh, October 26–28).
Demo day of student projects “Inventive Potential of the Youth of Zabaykalsky Krai” (Chita, October 20) – an exhibition-presentation of innovative projects with expert discussion and a plenary session with the participation of regional ministers.
The “I am an Inventor” festival (Tula, November 6) features lectures and master classes on optics, firearms, electrical engineering, and electronics, as well as the “Inventor and Rationalizer” exhibition.
