The Ministry of Education of the Novosibirsk Region and the Department of Education of Henan Province have signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation. This is the first agreement of this level between the Novosibirsk Region and a Chinese province. The document provides for comprehensive cooperation in the fields of education, science, and culture. The initiator of the signing was Novosibirsk State University. The memorandum signing ceremony took place at the XIII International Forum on Technological Development “Technoprom-2026” within the framework of the International Forum “Russia — Novosibirsk — China.”
The memorandum creates conditions for the development of a sustainable partnership between the Novosibirsk region and Henan province in the educational, scientific, and innovative fields. The agreement envisions mutual visits of official and academic delegations, the establishment of direct contacts between educational and scientific organizations, the launch of joint educational and research projects, as well as the organization of exhibitions and other related events.
— The signing of the memorandum marked an important step in strengthening interregional cooperation in the field of education. The document establishes the organizational framework for implementing joint initiatives and further developing interaction between educational institutions of the Novosibirsk region and Henan province at the levels of higher, secondary vocational, and general education. In addition to the memorandum, it is planned to agree upon and sign a roadmap outlining activities to deepen cooperation between the regions, – commented the head of the education export department of NSU Evgeny Sagaidak.
One of the upcoming events will be a visit of an educational delegation from the Novosibirsk region to Henan province. The participants of the trip will get acquainted with the region’s educational system and present to Chinese partners the potential of higher education in the Novosibirsk region.
NSU has been holding presentations of Russian universities in Henan Province for two consecutive years. This is one of the most densely populated regions of China, ranking among the top five provinces in the country in terms of economic development. Each year, about 1.3 million students graduate from schools in the province, of whom approximately 300,000 enroll in Chinese universities. The region has significant potential for expanding educational cooperation and attracting applicants to Russian universities.
