More than 530 applications have been submitted to participate in the fourth Moscow open championship in cyber athletics, which is 70 percent more compared to last year. This was reported by Natalya Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of Moscow. The tournament will take place from September 12 to 14 at the Phoenix assistive technology center at VDNH.
The competition will be held among participants with health conditions who use cybernetic assistive technologies — from exoskeletons and neural interfaces to functional shoulder prostheses. During the tournament, cybathletes will have to complete tasks on three tracks that simulate various everyday situations. For example, they will need to screw in a light bulb, hammer a nail, and also overcome a section with obstacles or uneven surfaces.
“Applications have been received from 67 regions of Russia, including Kaliningrad, Novosibirsk, and Amur regions, as well as from other countries — Turkey and Tajikistan. In addition to the championship itself, visitors can expect lectures by scientists, meetings with engineers, and an innovation exhibition,” noted Natalia Sergunina.
The business program of the event will combine three thematic blocks, each dedicated to a day. During the first, guests will learn about technological entrepreneurship; the second will cover solutions for healthcare; and the third will focus on business scaling and attracting investments. The series of expert speeches will conclude with presentations of new products from domestic companies.
More than 100 modern developments in the field of assistive technologies and healthy longevity can be seen in the “Showcase of Innovations” exhibition. Among them are rehabilitation equipment, simulators, digital services for monitoring key body indicators, smart glasses, and much more. In the interactive part of the exhibition, guests will be invited to test the inventions.
